Mission
Who are we? What defines us? How does our family shape our identity? What is our culture and how does it mold who we are? How does where and when we live define us? How does our response to the consequences of actions—by ourselves or others—reveal our character? And, how can understanding another people’s culture affect our respect and relationship with them, as well our understanding of ourselves?
The mission of learningwhoweare.com is to help young people address these questions, first through discovering how other people have sought to preserve their culture and establish their personal identity. Through searching and learning, our website strives to foster mutual respect and understanding among people and cultures.
Goal
The goal of learningwhoweare.com is to use the documentary films of Allan Holzman and other digital resources as lenses to explore the narratives of people who have experienced life-changing cultural events and transitions. These stories help us investigate how decisions made for us and those we make ourselves influence our own sense of selfhood. Ultimately, we will discover how the world around us shapes us and how our actions in turn shape the world for others.

It was good speaking with Allan, this morning. I'm very much looking forward to contributing to the Learning Who We Are series of videos starting with the Gullah.
I've just added a course class session to my learning management system of http://moodle.org at http;//alumnihouse.biz/lms
